PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush which can save labor of frequently spraying water on a wall face even when a vertical face such as a wall face, etc., hardly retaining water is to be washed. SOLUTION: This brush with shank is equipped with a brush part 2 to wipe off soil and a shank 1 connected with the brush part 2. A water retaining part 23 is equipped in between the base part 21 connected to the shank 1 and plural bristle bundles 22 planted in the base part 21 on the brush part 2. Because the water retaining part 23 constituting the brush part 2 retains water, the retained water is supplied to a part to be washed to increase washing effect by the bristle bundles constituting the brush part 2 when soil on a part to be washed is to be wiped off.
