PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of surely sensing an abnormality without complicating a constitution of an injection molding machine in the method for sensing the abnormality in a step of ejecting in the machine. SOLUTION: A through hole is provided in a movable mold 3, and a knock pin 4 is incorporated in the hole. The pin 4 is connected to a servo motor 15 via an ejector plate 5, a pin 7, an ejector plate 8 of the molding machine, a feeding screw 12 and the like. An ejecting force of the pin 4 in the case of ejecting a molding 1 is obtained from a drive torque of the motor 15. The method for sensing the abnormality in the machine comprises the steps of storing the relation of the torque to a time from the start of ejecting the molding 1 or a position of the plate of the machine as a reference pattern, and setting an allowed change range and a monitoring section of the torque to the pattern. In an ejecting step, when a value of the drive torque is out of the changing range, it is judged that the abnormality occurs to generate an alarm, and the machine is stopped in a safe state.
