PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for reducing selenic acid wherein a concentration of selenic acid contained therein is not constant, and the selenic acid contained in wastewater wherein a change in the concentration can not be estimated, can be efficiently treated by reduction. SOLUTION: A reactor for reducing selenic acid in a solution containing selenic acid is equipped with a reducing chamber for holding Azoarcus sp.MA-23 (entrusted registered No. FERM BP-6549), a means for transporting a respiration source to the strain by being connected to the reducing chamber, and a means for transporting a liquid being a treating object to the reducing chamber by being connected to the reducing chamber.
