<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stabilized magnesium based oxygen scavenger containing activated magnesium as a main agent, having no danger of generation of heat even in air and not almost losing the initial activity of oxygen absorption. SOLUTION: A magnesium compound is supported on a zeolite carrier to be subjected to activation treatment by a reducing agent and subsequently subjected to a stabilization treatment by carbon dioxide and, subsequently, the treated supported magnesium compound is activated by heat treatment to provide the oxygen scavenger having high oxygen absorbing activity.</p> |
