<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating waste water, in which a large amount of waste water can be treated and efficiency for treating waste water can be enhanced by a simple method. SOLUTION: Titanium dioxide having 1 nm-10 mm average particle diameter is brought into contact with waste water containing an organic material and gamma-ray or electron beam is irradiated on titanium dioxide at 0.1 kGy/h-100 MGy/h to decompose the organic material. In this method, gas containing oxygen may be blown into waste water. Titanium dioxide is covered on the inner surface of a treatment vessel constituted so as to flow waste water and permeate gamma-ray or electron beam and thereafter waste water may be passed through the treatment vessel while irradiating gamma-ray or electron beam on the treatment vessel. Further, even if the treatment vessel is a tubular body,.a plurality of tubular bodies may be formed into such a shape bundled in parallel that the flowing directions of waste water are respectively made the same.</p> |
