PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide roll segment in a vertical type continuous caster suitable to cast a cast slab having high class quality. SOLUTION: The guide roll segment 5 is composed of a reference side frame 13 for holding reference side guide rolls 11 and an reference opposite side frame 14 for holding reference opposite side guide rolls 12. Further, this guide roll segment is provided with an upper part connecting plate 21A for connecting the upper end parts of both frames, a lower part connecting plate 21B for connecting the lower end parts of both frames, a reference side fixing means for fixing the reference side frame 13 to the reference side end parts in each connecting plate, a reference side fixed position adjusting means 40 adjustable to the fixed position of the reference side frame 13 to the center of the connecting plate, an reference opposite side fixing means for fixing the reference opposite side frame 14 to the reference opposite side end part of each connecting plate and an reference opposite side fixed position adjusting means 60 adjustable to the fixed position of the reference opposite side frame 14 to the center of the connecting plate.
