real-time comparison of two complex vector values for shaping transient signals. SUBSTANCE: device uses digital methods based on abilities of cylindrical device to compare complex vector values in real time; in one case use is made of torque signal generated by digital comparator to detect failure in transmitting line; in other case power flow direction in transmitting line is determined by means of output signal; in third case signal is used to find out whether voltage or current exceeds desired threshold level or not.
