PURPOSE: A bFGF antisense oligonucleotide is provided which can be used in the treatment of proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR). CONSTITUTION: The bFGF antisense oligonucleotide useful for the treatment of proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR) has the nucleotide sequence of 5'-TAGCTTGAGTGAGG-3'. It is capable of inhibiting and decreasing the adhesion and growth of RPE cell and is referred to as FGF-2.
