PURPOSE: An electronic commerce system and a method for providing purchase decision making function are provided so that the electronic commerce can be activated by providing the purchasing deciding function, professional information, option information, attached article information and guaranty information to purchasers. CONSTITUTION: A member database(110), a supply company database(120), an article group database(130), an article information expert database(140), an article supply database(150), a transaction database(160), an electronic commerce server(200), an Internet(400), an authentication server(500), a supply company terminal(600), a purchaser terminal(700) and a general user terminal(800) compose the electronic commerce system. The electronic commerce server(200) is a server computer for providing an Internet web service. Here, the electronic commerce server(200) is connected to the Internet(400) for performing the TCP/IP communication. In addition, the electronic commerce server(200) communicates with a payment server(500) through the Internet(400). The supply company terminal(600), the purchaser terminal(700) and the general user terminal(800) also access the electronic commerce server(200) through the Internet(400).
