PURPOSE: A device and method for adjusting resolution of screen are provided so that a user can save a memory space by adjusting the resolution within a monitor resolution range when output object images exceed a general monitor resolution. CONSTITUTION: A list of image data to be displayed on a monitor is provided to a user(s201), so that the user can select image data. A resolution of the monitor which is a display device is confirmed and notified to the user(s202). The user sets up a resolution of the selected image data within a monitor resolution range(s203). In addition, the user receives the selected image data and the setup resolution information, and loads the selected image data stored in an auxiliary memory to a main memory according to the setup resolution(s204). When the user loads the image data to the main memory, the user reads the image data stored in the auxiliary memory at a predetermined interval. Thereafter, the read image data are displayed on the screen(s205). Here, the user can move or edit the read data. Accordingly, the user can adjust the resolution of the images within the monitor resolution range, thereby improving an operation speed.
