The invention relates to a multicompartment packaging for cooling or heating products. The aim of the invention is to provide a packaging unit that comprises a plurality of compartments with the help of which a product can be heated or cooled by way of a chemical reaction. To this end, the multicompartment packaging consists of a first compartment (1) that is filled with a solid substance or a liquid, and an adjacent, second compartment (2) that is filled with a liquid and that is temporarily separate from the first compartment. Once the temporary separation of the two compartments is neutralized, the substances in said two compartments, upon contact, undergo an endothermic or exothermic reaction. At least one compartment wall simultaneously represents a permanent contact surface (5) to a third compartment (3) that is filled with the product to be cooled or heated. The two compartments are contacted with the third compartment only via the contact surfaces (17, 18, 5), and the third compartment has an opening (7) through which the product is withdrawn.
