PURPOSE: The second harmonic generator is provided to appropriately block flow of heat, accurately and efficiently control heat flow and output stable second harmonic. CONSTITUTION: The second harmonic generator includes a laser diode mount(200) containing a laser diode(110), a resonator(500) for generating the second harmonic from pumping laser emitted from the laser diode, and a connector(400) for connecting the resonator and the laser diode mount to each other. The second harmonic generator further includes a thermal controller having a cooler(800) for controlling the temperature of the resonator, a housing(300) that accommodates the resonator and is combined with the laser diode mount, a beam splitter(210) for reflecting a part of the second harmonic emitted from the resonator, and a photodetector(220) for detecting the beam split by the beam splitter. The cooler is placed between the housing and the resonator to thermally connect the housing and resonator to each other.
