<p>After a printer performs its maintenance under control of a maintenance control section (52), an ink information collecting section (73) calculates the consumption of the ink. A storage device managing section (74) stores the calculated ink consumption in a storage device equipped in an ink cartridge. In such a way, thereafter, the amount of ink not consumed for actual printing, such as the amount of ink consumed for maintenance, can be known when the content of the storage device is read.</p> |
