A method for the fabrication of an intermediate product (100), such as a plate, a billet or a forging block, in a determined aluminium alloy of the 7000 series is characterised in that it comprises:- a) the supplying of products for recycling such as scrap and machining croppings (1) from at least one second alloy of the 7000 series having a target content, of at least one second anti-recrystallisation element such as Zr or Cr, greater than the maximum content acceptable for the determined alloy; b) at least one refining stage for the scrap and croppings (1), allowing the reduction of the content of this second anti-recrystallisation element to a value lower than the maximum acceptable content in the determined alloy; c) the elaboration of a batch of liquid metal (21) from the pure metal (7) from the refining operation; d) the formation of the intermediate product (100) by casting (40) the liquid metal.
