A videotext signal is sent to the allocation server. Output videotext signals are expanded for transmission of earlier sections. A current, digitally-compressed TV signal is supplied simultaneously to the video server system. The output video signal stream is supplied as required against subscription after transmission of a demand, in the time taken to transmit the TV transmission subscriber signals to the allocation server.
