PURPOSE: A gyricon display apparatus is provided to enable a display apparatus of a high resolution to be put to a practical use by making a driver circuit simple. CONSTITUTION: A gyricon display apparatus comprises a unit pixel(Pu) having spherical cells(Cy, Cm, Cc). A basic color is painted half on each of the spherical cells. Each of the spherical cells is rotated by charge of a driving power so as to be displayed. The spherical cells have different sizes from each other according to their painted colors, so that the charged amount of each spherical cell is different. Front electrode lines(Lp) of the spherical cells of the unit cell are connected in common, and rear electrode lines(Lr) thereof are connected in common. A driving pulse signal is applied between the front electrode line(Lp) and the rear electrode line(Lr). A driving power of the driving pulse signal is varied periodically.
