PURPOSE: A semi-transmission type liquid crystal display device and a method of fabricating the device are provided to improve luminance, to make color purity uniform, and to reduce cost while forming viewing angle of reflection mode. CONSTITUTION: A semi-transmission type liquid crystal display device includes the first substrate(11), the first electrode formed on the first substrate and configured of a transmission part(120) and a reflection part(140), and the second substrate(150) disposed above the first substrate having a predetermined distance between the two substrates. The device further has a protection layer(160) that is formed at a position corresponding to the reflection part and has different refractive characteristics according to positions, a color filter(170) formed on the protection layer, the second electrode(180) formed on the color filter, and a liquid crystal layer filled between the two substrates.
