The encoding device has the information data represented as matrix elements, with the first column of the matrix simultaneously used as the home key, the information matrix inverted at the transmitter and combined with a selected association matrix, before transmission to the receiver. Only the authorised receiver, provided with the home key, can perform the mathematical functions required for restoration of the information matrix.
