The invention relates to an injection system for an internal combustion engine, comprising a pressure accumulator (9) for storing fuel to be injected, a controllable actuating mechanism (12) for adjusting a predetermined pressure in the pressure accumulator (9); and a control unit (16) which is connected to the actuating mechanism (12) on the output side, for controlling said actuating mechanism (12) with a control signal (s) in order to adjust the pressure in the pressure accumulator (9). The control unit (16) is connected to an evaluation unit (24) on the output side, this evaluation unit determining the pressure in the pressure accumulator (9), based on the control signal (s).
