PASSWORD CHANGING METHOD, COMPUTER SYSTEM, AND COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDED MEDIUM ON WHICH PROGRAM IS STORED

A computer system provided with an electronic device having a password locking function of inhibiting a processing until a registered password is inputted. The system includes an input unit (10) for inputting an update password in place of a registered password after the environment setting performed after system start-up is completed, an update password storage unit (20) where the update password is stored, a setting unit (40) for setting the stored update password as a new registered password when the computer system is first started up since the update password is stored and then the environment setting is made. Thus alteration and setting of a password by a computer virus is prevented, and the operator can alter the password of an electronic device through an operator's accustomed GUI.
