ATTENUATING DEVICE FOR VIBRATION OF ROTATING SHAFT METER USING ER(ELECTRO-RHEOLOGY) EFFECT

PURPOSE: A vibration attenuating device of a rotating shaft meter is provided to suppress the vibration of a rotating shaft without the obstruction of rotation, to be easily attached in a small space without the change of dynamics, and to always keep the stability of the shaft meter in a semi-active type. CONSTITUTION: A vibration attenuating device using ER(electro-rheology) fluid contains a housing and a mass body not conducting a rotation but a translation. Then, an air inlet is installed in the housing for preventing a fluid leakage and pressure increase in the attenuating device. Further, all kinds of thin plate shaped mass bodies placed in the attenuating device, have a large mass rate for not applying large load to the shafting meter but keeping the isotropy of the shaft meter. The housing is divided in two to be assembled or disassembled and the assembled housing is attached on a fixing unit. A proper elastic material is placed between the housing and a bearing outer wheel for the mass body. The attenuating force of the device is adjusted on the reference of vibration variation caused by voltage.
