<p>A medium for information recording having good recording/ reproducing characteristics in recording/reproduction by using a blue laser. A substrate (1, 1') has an information-recording thin film serving as a recording film (3, 3') in which information is recorded in the form of change in atomic arrangement caused by irradiation with light. The refractive index of the amorphous phase of the recording film for a reproducing wavelength is larger than that of the crystalline phase. A lower protective layer (2, 2') is formed between the recording film and the substrate. An upper protective layer (4, 4') and a reflective layer (6, 6') are formed on the recording film on the opposite side to the substrate. A cooling control layer (5, 5') is formed between the upper protective layer and the reflective layer.</p> |
