PURPOSE: A support structure of a flat glass in a color cathode ray tube is provided to prevent deformation of a face plate portion and a rear plate portion by installing a support portion to each inside of the face plate portion and the rear plate portion. CONSTITUTION: A face plate portion(101) has a rectangular flat shape. A fluorescent screen portion(103) is formed on an inner face of the face plate portion(101). A rear plate portion(102) having a plurality of opening portion(102a) corresponds to the face plate portion(101). A funnel portion(104) is formed around the plural openings(102a). An outer wall portion(105) is used for maintaining a vacuum state between the face plate portion(101) and the rear plate portion(102). An electron gun portion(107) is used for emitting an electron beam. A deflection portion(108) is used for controlling deflection of the electron beam. A support portion(109) is used for preventing deformation of each plate portion(101,102). The support portion(109) has a hexagonal shape.
