A novel polypeptide characterized by having an analgesic peptide-like structure, its salts, etc. The above-described protein (polypeptide), its peptide fragments, salts thereof and DNA encoding the same are usable in acquiring an antibody and an antiserum, constructing an expression system for the above-described protein (polypeptide), screening a candidate compound for a drug by using the expression system, etc.
