PURPOSE: An electronic map service method using the Internet is provided so that an output speed of map images can be improved by ignoring the previously-loaded map image objects and re-loading new map images according to a map image variation request of a client. CONSTITUTION: A web server(130) provides a web page for providing an electronic map service through an Internet(120). When a client(110) demands map information and inputs a search object data, the web server(130) analyzes the data, searches the analyzed data in a coordinate database(135), converts the searched data into map coordinates, and loads a map image object for displaying map images through a web browser of the client(110). A search engine(152) of the map server(150) searches the map coordinates from the web server(130) in a map database(154), and transmits the corresponding map images to the web server(130). An image object handler(140) designates a screen of the map image object loaded to the web browser, converts the designated screen coordinates into real map coordinates, and demands map image search of the coordinates to the map server(150), and enables the map image object to individually process the map images.
