The invention consists in instant detection of any type of analyte using a corresponding ligand treated by a technique of grafting different reagents R1 and R3 of standard markers. The sample is first set on a filter enclosed between two card-type or punched tape-type elements and supporting the reagents R2 and R4. Then a solution of ligand treated with R1 and R3 is set in the same site to migrate with the previously set sample. The method consists in trapping with R2, the ligand prepared with R1 in the absence of the analyte sought in the sample but allowing it to migrate in the filter if the sought analyte is bound to the antigenic determinant of the ligand, hiding from view the reagent R1. The reagent R3 which has migrated with the non-trapped ligand (bound to the sought analyte), chemically or physically reacts with a reagent R4 located further downstream on the filter to produce at the tip of the filter a quantifiable signal when contacted with a substrate or a particular reader. The device is advantageously a credit card type card wherein the filter and its funnel are removable, disposed of after the test, revealing only the signal adjacent to a bar code and an electronic chip. A laser pen or an electronic eye reads the bar code (identity, type of test, etc), then quantifies the result (spot intensity optionally coloured) before transmitting the whole set of data thus collected to a particular network (of the vital access card type, for example) via the electronic chip. The system can be coupled with DNA chips for proteome-genomic use; the discovery by the present system of traces of a mutated protein will be confirmed by the DNA chip which will find the abnormal DNA sequence. Inversely, the discovery of mutant genes in a cell sample will be confirmed by infinitesimal detection of the corresponding abnormal protein. |
