<p>A corrugated deck (10) for use as decking or shelving in storage racks is provided. The deck has a plurality of apertures (18, 20) punched or formed into the horizontal surface areas (12, 14) according to a predetermined pattern. Each aperture (18, 20) is punched or formed such that a downwardly sloping, vertical flange (22, 24) is created from the surrounding material. The flange directs the flow of liquid into the aperture from the adjacent horizontal surface areas and reinforces the structural integrity of the deck. A storage rackn (30) made with decks (10) of this invention meets fire code requirements regarding the percentage of open area in the shelving and at the same time handles high load-bearing applications.</p> |
