The motor vehicle fuel injector has a casing (2) containing a valve chamber (25) with a control slide (3). The valve chamber is fed from a high pressure collection chamber. The control slide moves in the chamber when the control chamber (4) discharges into the valve chamber, to cause a feed through a nozzle supply duct (15) towards an injection nozzle. The control slide has a control surface (8) formed on its face. The control surface has a control groove.
