PURPOSE: A toothpaste composition containing ethylalcohol is provided which has an improved cleaning activity and refreshes a user in oral. CONSTITUTION: The toothpaste composition contains 1 to 25 wt.%, preferably 3 to 18 wt.% of ethyl alcohol. The toothpaste composition further contains 10 to 50% of tooth abrasive agent selected from hydrogen calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide and silica; 5 to 70% of humectant selected from crystalline or amorphous sorbitol solution, glycerine, polyethylene glycol and propylene aglycone; and 0.1 to 5% of binder selected from cellulose gum, xanthan gum, sodium alginate, polyacrylate, carrageenan and natural gums.
