PURPOSE: A method for recognizing a main wall of a drawing using an extension line information is provided to process, maintain and output drawing information easily by extracting information being recorded in a drawing and making a vector based on the information and storing the information. CONSTITUTION: A binarize is performed for remaining a thick main wall line and removing a thin line by considering a line property expressing a main wall for a pre-process of an architectural drawing(S100). A vectorization of a line is performed using an image removing a relatively thin horizontal/vertical line obtained through a binarize of a gray image(S110). A size of a searching space is reduced and an extraction of a main wall is secured by restricting an existence area of a main wall(S120). A rectangle area capable of finding a main wall is searched and a numerical value auxiliary line is extracted(S130). A main wall is checked and sensed using a numerical value auxiliary line passing the inside of the main wall(S140). If one line is searched out of lines expressing a main wall component, all main wall lines positioned in the corresponding main wall components are searched, and a connected main wall is sensed(S150). If all main walls are searched, a window between main walls is sensed(S160).
