PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device using polarization of a liquid crystal display panel, which reproduces glassless stereoscopic images and multi-view point stereoscopic imaging system using polarization of the liquid crystal display panel having divided left and right regions, is provided. CONSTITUTION: A stereoscopic image display device using polarization of a liquid crystal display panel includes the first and second liquid crystal display panels(26,28) that have polarization in a specific direction and are arranged perpendicular to each other, an illuminating device for illuminating the first and second liquid crystal panels, and a phase retarder(29) located in front of the first liquid crystal display panel to make the phase of a beam including image information from the first liquid crystal display panel have a phase difference from the phase of a beam emitted from the second liquid crystal display panel. The device further has a polarizing beam splitter(31) for combining beams that include image information and are emitted from the first and second liquid crystal display panels, being perpendicular to each other, together, a projection lens(38) having an input opening into which the combined beam is inputted and an output opening from which the beam is output, and the first polarization plate(41) having polarizing planes having different polarization characteristics and transmitting only a beam corresponding to each polarizing plane. The device also has an image projection screen(45) for displaying image information of the beam that has passed through the projection lens and the first polarization plate, and the second polarization plate having the same polarization characteristic as that of the first polarization plate.
