PURPOSE: A method for processing the rejection of a resource release request in an LE(Local Exchange) according to a V5.2 protocol is provided to make resource release normally done in real time, even in case that an LE receives a release request rejection message for a resource release request message transmitted to an AN(Access Network). CONSTITUTION: If an LE(100) sends a resource allocation request message(ALLOC) containing port information(port A) and time slot information(time slot B) to an AN(102)(300), the AN transmits an allocation response message(ALLOC_COMP) to the LE so that resource allocation can be made(302). Afterwards, the LE sends a resource release request message(DE_ALLOC) to the AN(304) in order to release the time slot resource(304). If the AN transmits a release request rejection message(DE_ALLOC_REJ) in response to the resource release request message(306), the LE sends an audit message containing port information(port A) to the AN(308). Also the LE sends an audit message containing time slot information(time slot B) to the AN(310). However, in case that time slots C and B are connected to ports A and D respectively, the AN sends an audit response message containing the information of port A and the information of time slot C and an audit response message containing the information of port D and the information of time slot B to the LE(312,314). After confirming each time slot information and port information, the LE sends a resource release request message(DE_ALLOC) containing the information of port A and the information of time slot C and a resource release request message(DE_ALLOC) containing the information of port D and the information of time slot B to the AN(316,318). In response to the resource release request messages(DE_ALLOC), the AN sends resource request response messages(DE_ALLOC_COMP) to the LE(320,322).
