<p>The machine has a first sleeper transporter unit (21) to lift old sleepers (23), and a second sleeper transporter unit (25) to deposit new sleepers (27) on a prepared ballast layer. Each of the transporter units carries a coupling device (37,38) for detachable connection to an old sleeper lifting device (36). The lifting device is moved by drives from a working position to lift old sleepers from the ballast bed, into an out-of-use position. A sleeper conveyor (45,50) associated with first/second sleeper transporter, for old/new sleepers, has a turning drive (46,51), which can be reversed.</p> |
