<p>The antenna includes a multiply connected surface such as a toroid or other such surface formed by rotating a plane closed curve. An insulated conductor (50) extends in a conductive path (56) around and over the toroid from one node (60) to another node (62). The conductor also extends in another conductive path (58) in the opposite direction between the nodes. The conductive paths can be contrawound with right and left hand sections. Poloidal- peripheral winding patterns can also be used. The conductive paths reverse sense at the nodes connected to the terminals (52,54) which supply or receive signals to transmit or receive RF signals.</p> |
