PURPOSE: A horizontal/vertical reference beam generator is provided to scan spot type beam emitted from a focus lens unit to the center of a cylindrical lens by performing micro-adjustment of the cylindrical lens. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal/vertical reference beam generator has two cylindrical lens units(100) for generating vertical and horizontal reference beams respectively. Each cylindrical lens unit consists of a cylindrical rotational holder(10), a disk type tilting holder(20) and a lens frame(30) mounted on the tilting holder. The rotational holder includes a rear part(11) inserted into an opening(1-1) of a body(1) and a front part(12) having the tilting holder. The rear part has an outer diameter smaller than one of the front part. A sill portion(13) is formed between the rear part and the front part. Bushings(14-1,14-2) are formed at the upper and lower parts of the first holder(10). The tilting holder has the center opened. The tilting holder has brackets(21,22) mounted at the upper and lower parts. Each bracket has through holes for bolts. The through holes correspond to the bushings of the first holder. As the rear curved portion of the second holder(20) having the lens frame is closely adhered to the front curved portion of the first holder, the first holder is connected with the second holder by bolts(41,42). Then, another two bolts are combined to each screw grooves of the body via the through holes of the first holder. The first holder is assembled to the body, and the cylindrical lens is mounted on the body through the holders. The distortion of the cylindrical lens units is corrected by simple operation. Therefore, working efficiency and performance of equipment is enhanced.
