PURPOSE: A device and a method for collecting the dust generated during a vehicle travel are provided to prevent air pollution by sucking, transferring, separating and collecting the dust generated due to the wear of the surface of a tire or a road. CONSTITUTION: A device for collecting the dust generated during a travel comprises a suction hood(1) as a fender, transferring tubes(2,5) transferring the sucked air and dust, a blower(6) generating a local vacuum pressure to suck the air containing dust, and a driving motor(7) driving the blower. A centrifugal separation cyclone body is included. The air and dust sucked in through an inlet of the cyclone body swivels. The dust collides against the inner wall of the cyclone and speed is reduced. The dust falls down by the weight of itself and settles in a collecting container. By attaching the dust collector to a tire, rising of the vehicle price is minimized.
