The invented apparatus for separating an oil aerosol from air includes a separating element (11), which is configured as an annular coalescer (22) which coalesces oil or oil mist in a known manner into larger oil drops that settle by gravity in the separating element (11) and downstream therefrom. The separating element (11) is disposed in a housing (14) and the housing (14) is attached from above to a flanged piece (10) that is provided with an connecting lines for supplying and carrying away the air and with an annular channel (48) through which the separated oil is delivered to a permanent drainage line. The flanged piece (10) includes an adapter element to which additional flanged pieces (26) can be attached, to thereby enabling parallel connection of several separating elements (11, 12).
