<p>The subject invention provides materials and methods for the control of pests. Specifically exemplified is the use of recombinant hosts to control mosquito larvae. These hosts, which may be, for example yeast or algae, can be transformed so that they express a pesticidal polypeptide which controls mosquito larvae. These transformed microbes can then be applied to surface waters where mosquito larvae are likely to be found.</p> |
