PURPOSE: A shroud nozzle for continuous casting has increased resistance against corrosion, oxidation, and especially for thermal impact applied to shroud nozzle in an initial stage of continuous casting by lining an insulation layer with low thermal conductivity on inner surface of the shroud nozzle. CONSTITUTION: In the shroud nozzle on inner surface of which an insulation layer comprising mullite 70-90wt.%, clay 10-30wt.% and binder 2-4wt.%, the insulation layer is characterized in that its thickness is 0.1-5mm and thermal conductivity thereof is lower than 5kcal/mh°C.
