PURPOSE: A washing machine and a program providing method are provided to use a program proper to the life environment of a user downloading from the network. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine comprises: a key signal input unit(1) for inputting commands for performing washing, downloading a program and operating the program downloaded; a water level sensing unit(2) for sensing the level of the washing water; a water supply valve drive unit(3) for driving a water supply valve with response to a control signal; a drain valve drive unit(4) for driving a drain valve with response to a control signal; a motor drive unit(5) for driving a washing motor with response to a control signal; a display unit(6) for displaying the operating state of a washing machine and the generation of an error; a control unit(7) for outputting control signals to the drive units; and a downloading unit(8) for saving a new program in the control unit. Therefore, a washing machine is used efficiently. |
