PURPOSE: Provided are partially fluorinated copolymers based on trifluorostyrene and substituted vinyl compounds and an ion-conductive polymer membrane formed from the copolymers and a fuel cell containing the membrane. CONSTITUTION: The partially fluorinated copolymer represented by the formula 1 contains a trifluorostyrene repeat unit and a substituted vinyl compound repeat unit, wherein the polymer has a weight average molecular weight of 30000-500000. In the formula, R1, R2, and R3 are each F, H, or CH3, X is hydroxy or trifluoromethyl, m is an integer of more than 0, and n, p, q, and r are each an integer of more than 0. And the ion-conductive polymer membrane contains the partially fluorinated copolymers. |
