PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an industrially advantageous information recording medium having sufficient solubility to a dye even without dissolving a board made of a plastic and a coating liquid for manufacturing. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the information recording medium having a recording layer capable of writing and/or reading information by a light on the board comprises the step of forming the recording layer by coating and drying the coating liquid obtained by dissolving the dye at least one type of solvent selected from the group consisting of a 3-6C unsaturated alcohol and 4-11C carboxylate derived from the 3-6C unsaturated alcohol and an ether on the board.
