PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a Toxoplasma gondii antigen, to prepare the Toxoplasma gondii antigen by genetic engineering and to provide the use of the antigen. SOLUTION: This protein contains an amino acid sequence of table 8 in the specification derived from Toxoplasma gondii or is encoded by a DNA sequence of the table 8 in the specification or its immunogenic part. This method for preparing the protein is characterized in that a prokaryotic cell or an eukaryocyte is transformed with a plasmid containing a nucleic acid encoding the protein, a DNA inserted by the plasmid is expressed and an expression product is isolated. This diagnostic contains the protein, the nucleic acid or an antigen against the protein.
