PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil strainer which comprises a case 4, a filtration member installed in the inside of the case, and ribs 9 formed in the inner face of the case 4 and which has a widened oil-passing cross-sectional surface area in the inside of the case without weakening the reinforcing function of the ribs 9 for the case 4. SOLUTION: Each rib 9 unitedly comprises a base part 9a having a prescribed thickness and a tip part 9b having a thickness thinner than the thickness of the base part 9a and a notch 11 is formed in the tip part 9b as to cut the tip part 9b in the longitudinal direction.
