PURPOSE: A start current control system of a compressor is provided to optimize a start current ad to start a compressor with a remarkably smaller amount of current by turning on switching units sequentially through time delay as long as a compressor is started. CONSTITUTION: A start current control system includes a power supply(21); a main control unit(23) deciding the driving of first/second compressors(30,40); a compressor driving unit(Rd) outputting signals for driving/stopping the compressors; a microcomputer(25) controlling an electric current for the compressors; a current limit unit(T) feeding the phase-controlled current to the compressors; a first switching unit(R1) deciding the driving of the current limit unit; a second switching unit(R2) deciding the time point for providing start/running capacitance to the first compressor; third/fourth switching unit(R3,R4) deciding the time point for providing start/running capacitance to the second compressor; first/second start support units(Cs1,Cs2) providing start capacitance; and first/second running support units(Cd1,Cd2) providing running capacitance. If overvoltage is fed, the main control unit sets the on time of the current limit unit shorter than in case of low voltage. Thereby, excess current does not flow to each coil(31,41) of the compressors.
