PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenol resin molding material for a commutator which is excellent in shaft press-fitting property. SOLUTION: The phenol resin molding material for a commutator comprises 100 parts by mass of a phenol resin as the resin component prepared by mixing a novolac type phenol resin and a resol type phenol resin at a mass ratio of 90/10-70/30, 8-15 parts by mass of a partially crosslinked NBR, 120-250 parts by mass of an inorganic filler and hexamethylene tetramine, wherein hexamethylene tetramine is incorporated at a rate of 10-20 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the novolac type phenol resin.
