PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of reducing the cost with a simple structure and preventing the damage of the laundry. SOLUTION: This washing machine comprises a washing tub 3 opened upward to put the laundry and having an inside diameter gradually increased to the upper part, and a motor 24 for rotating a tub shaft 16 integrated to the washing tub 3 by inverter control. The washing tub 3 is rotated at a low speed by the motor 24, whereby washing water is dragged by the washing tub 3 to generate a water flow, which rotates the laundry to perform a washing process and a rinsing process. The washing tub 3 is rotated at a high speed by the motor 24 to perform a dehydration process.
