In this invention, information on the album is recorded only into a chief disc, one of the discs composing the album. The other discs simply include an identification of the chief disc. Accordingly it is possible to allow a plurality of recording media to be handled as a unit with ease and to allow each of the recording media to pertain to a plurality of such units.
