PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which is good in processability, dimension stability, and the vulcanized rubber obtained from the rubber composition is excellent in abrasion resistance, tensile strength and usable for belts, hoses, tires, etc. SOLUTION: This rubber composition comprises [1] a cross-linked rubber particle component wherein the toluene-insoluble portion is >=50 mass% and the number average particle diameter is 3-1,000 nm, and [2] a noncross-linked rubber component wherein the toluene-insoluble portion is <20 mass%. The cross-linked rubber particle component is made of a polymer comprising one of (1) a conjugated diene unit, (2) a conjugated diene unit and anα,β-unsaturated nitrile unit and (3) a conjugated diene unit and an acrylate unit, as well as a monomer unit having at least two polymerizable unsaturated groups. The noncross-linked rubber component is a polymer comprising one of (a) a conjugated diene unit, (b) (a) and an aromatic vinyl unit, (c) (a) and anα,β-unsaturated nitrile unit, (d) (a) and an acrylate unit, and (e) an ethylene unit and a 3-12Cα-olefin unit.
