PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a decorative plate for eliminating a problem of a deterioration of an appearance of the plate due to an aging change or the like, by improving processability in the case of perforating decorative grooves on a woody decorative material. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the decorative plate comprises the steps of adhering the woody decorative material 2 on a surface of a base plate 1 not having water permeability, coating an undercoat on the surface of the material 2 to form an undercoat layer 4a, then perforating the decorative grooves 3 from the surface of the layer 4 to the plate 1 through the material 2, thereafter coating a top coat on the layer 4 and a bottom of the layer 4 to form a top coat layer 5.
